18 Month Check Up

Brooklyn hit 18 months old in May! I can't believe how fast the times goes, but I just love every day I get to spend with her. At her check up, we found out she hit a huge growth spurts. Her height jumped from being in the 50-60% percentile to the 84% percentile. She grew 2 inches in 3 months! We felt like it happened overnight!

Head: 89% percentile

Our little girl is no longer a baby! She is a full on toddler (tantrums, independent, smiling and learning everything).

Here are a few of her favorite things:

*She loves to read books! She will read to us, loves it when we read with her and just look at the pictures. Her favorite books are Franklin the Turtle soccer book, The Hungry Caterpillar, The Teddy Bear picnic and a HUGE Teddy Bear Encyclopedia.

*She still enjoys eating (especially snacks!). Goldfish crackers, strawberries and blueberries are her favorite. She won't let us help her eat, but she has gotten pretty good at using a spoon and fork.

*She loves necklaces, bracelets, wallets, cell phones, shoes and getting her nails painted (she is just a little bit of a girly-girl). She also LOVES putting chapstick on and pretending to put make up on.

*Bath time is still her favorite time of the day. She is a fish and absolutely loves swimming and going to the pool.

*Her cousin Karly is one of her favorite people in the world to play with.

*She is a mom to Bozley. She is always concerned about where he is and what he is doing. She loves him a little more than he loves her. She will even carry his leash around and try to take him for walks.

*She enjoys playing with cars, puzzles and balls.

*She loves her shopping cart and vacuum.

*She enjoys helping with chores (especially sweeping and window washing).

*She still loves going for walks, but if there is playground nearby, then the cause is lost. She loves going down slides. She also thinks she is bigger than she is, and tries to climb up everything.

*Jumping is a favorite! Jumping on the bed, couch, off things, just jumping off the ground, are all of her favorites.

*Brooklyn loves to color! She is obsessed with crayons but will use anything (pen, pencil, marker) to color a picture.

*She loves sign language and learning new signs. She is using a new sign almost daily.

*She loves singing (especially ABC, Old McDonald and Itsy Bitsy Spider). She will sing E-O whenever she sees farm animals.

*She loves animals and learning animal sounds.

*She loves to watch Special Agent Oso, Daniel the Tiger and Signing Time.

Brooklyn is so much fun to play with and be around. She is a goofball but also a helper. I knew from the beginning she was stubborn and had a big personality and she continues to show us just how amazing she can be!
